How to Find a Contractor

The key to any quality construction project rests on the experience and commitment of the contractor. It might be difficult to find a contractor in your area that will install a steel roof, so some persistence may be needed in the search.

As a starting point, consider the following:

 

  • Search the yellow pages.
    (Hint: a contractor that specializes in farm buildings may have the most experience with steel roofing).
  • Ask the steel roofing manufacturer.
  • Ask the staff on the contractor desk of your local building supply store.
    This is where the contractor goes to buy the steel roofing.
  • Always ask prospective contractors for references on jobs done in steel, and make sure to call these references.
  • Ask your neighbours who have a steel roof on their house.
